I found this recipe on allrecipes.com, but was kind hesitant about it-yet intrigued at the same time. They actually turned out wonderfully delicious! My whole family loves them. So I decided to add them to my holiday repertoire!
I plan on wrapping the boxes with red satin ribbon. I can't wait to give these sweet little goodies away for Christmas!! This is the BEST time of year.Oreo Truffles
Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) package OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, divided
1 (8 ounce) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
2 (8 ounce) packages BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate, melted
Directions
Crush 9 of the cookies to fine crumbs in food processor; reserve for later use. (Cookies can also be finely crushed in a resealable plastic bag using a rolling pin.) Crush remaining 36 cookies to fine crumbs; place in medium bowl. Add cream cheese; mix until well blended. Roll cookie mixture into 42 balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
Dip balls in chocolate; place on wax paper-covered baking sheet. (Any leftover chocolate can be stored at room temperature for another use.) Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.

Enjoy!!
A friend brought these to our small group a few years ago, and I've been making them ever since. They're so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I think truffles can be really rich sometimes but these were a perfect marriage of rich and creamy :)
ReplyDeleteCan you give me some advice on dipping, lol?! I'm serious though! When I dip in chocolate, it never seems to be smooth enough or I end up dropping it or using far too much chocolate - any help you can offer?
ReplyDeleteP.S. These sound delicious!
Jen I have some of the same issues :P
ReplyDeleteBUT, after I rolled them in the crumbs you couldn't see the imperfections. I'm also rolling them in coconut and nuts this Christmas. I try to drop them in the chocolate and take them out with a fork, after tapping it against the side of the pot to drop off excess chocolate.
Hope this helps :)
